Points of interest

The points of interest are currently:

  • An assortment of 10 neighborhoods to help you zoom in faster (although there is a “find me” function)
  • Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum
  • Field Museum
  • Museum of Science and Industry
  • DuSable Museum
  • Harold Washington Cultural Center
  • Chicago Cultural Center
  • Museum of Contemporary Art
  • City Hall
  • Millennium Park Bike Station
  • Velodrome
  • Fixit station at SAIC’s Columbus Drive building
  • All CTA and Metra stations

I won’t add every suggestion. The POIs I just listed take up a lot of room on the home screen so if I add more, I’ll have to think about how users will navigate.

What points of interest should I add to the app?

The Chicago Offline Bike Map is now listed on City-Go-Round, a directory of apps that help you get around.
The current version doesn’t have transit stations listed, but the in-progress version already has working train station markers, and a CTA station finder (I’m finishing up the Metra station finder).
Screenshot shows current version on an iPad. Also, I’m looking for suggestions for points of interest to add.
